Job Title: Surgery Scheduler

In this role you will:

Be responsible for coordinating and scheduling patient surgeries and procedures for physicians in clinic and at hospitals/ surgery centers. This role is crucial in assisting physicians in treating patients in a timely manner and ensuring optimal compliance with healthcare regulations, hospital policies, insurance authorizations, and medical clearances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule surgeries and related appointments for patients

• Patient Communication: Communicate with patients regarding their surgery dates, pre-operative instructions, and any necessary preparations.

• Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations for surgical procedures.

• Coordination with Medical Staff: Work closely with physicians, equipment reps, and hospital staff to ensure all necessary resources are available for scheduled surgeries.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of scheduled surgeries, patient information, and any changes to appointments.

• Problem Solving: Address any scheduling conflicts or issues that may arise, finding solutions to minimize disruptions.

• Compliance: Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies regarding scheduling and patient information confidentiality.

• Data Entry: Enter and update information in electronic health record (EHR) systems or scheduling software.

  
  

Qualifications:

• Surgery scheduling 2 year (required)

• High school diploma (required)

• Commercial, Medicare, and managed care insurance scheduling experience preferred
