ABOUT DR. ROBERTS
Christopher A. Roberts, MD is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon providing advanced, personalized care in Venice, Florida at Center for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. He specializes in conditions of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee, with particular expertise in robotic-assisted joint replacement and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery.
Dr. Roberts’ philosophy centers on precision, innovation, and individualized care. He believes exceptional outcomes begin with trust, attentive listening, and a treatment plan tailored to each patient’s lifestyle, goals, and expectations. Having overcome a sports injury himself, a femur fracture at the age of 15, Dr. Roberts emphasizes a wholesome patient-centered experience. His approach integrates advanced technology with meticulous surgical technique to deliver reliable outcomes and a refined patient experience.
He completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Florida Shands Hospital Jacksonville, with additional clinical training at Mayo Clinic Hospital Jacksonville and Nemours Children’s Specialty Care at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. He then pursued fellowship training in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Reconstruction at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas, one of the nation’s leading sports medicine institutions.
Dr. Roberts has served as a team physician for both professional and scholastic athletes, including Colorado Rockies, and currently provides orthopaedic care for local athletes in the Venice community. His experience ranges from high-performance competitors to active individuals seeking durable, long-term solutions.
He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of select professional organizations, including the Hawkins Society. In recognition of his clinical excellence and leadership, he has been named a Top 40 Business Professional in Venice, Florida, and serves as Fleet Surgeon of the Venice Yacht Club.
Outside the operating room, Dr. Roberts values time with his wife, their two children, and their golden retriever. He views his work as both a profession and a calling—approaching each patient with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to delivering exceptional care without compromise.
